Literary writing with artificial intelligence: New dimensions of literary-aesthetic education in German lessons of secondary schools
OStR Dr. Daniela Matz
Participation in practices of literary production and reception is considered a central aspect of individual and cultural education and should be made possible for all learners as part of their school education. However, new technological developments tend to reinforce existing educational differences. This applies in particular to literacy characterized by artificial intelligence. Literary-aesthetic education must therefore be rethought. The theoretically profiled didactics of literary writing represents the starting point of the research as a production-oriented, integrative and integrating approach. The aim is to research teaching-learning processes in AI-supported literary writing practice in German lessons at secondary level within the methodology of design research. The research consistently pursues the goal of identifying conditions for the successful integration of AI technologies in writing processes so that learners can develop and expand their text design and text evaluation skills in the implementation of poetological processes. The focus is particularly on the ongoing implementation of AI technologies in the classroom. The potential of non-human and human cooperation and communication partners in the literary writing process will be explored. The methodological approach provides for an approach to design elements that support learning in iterative research cycles and, in addition to researching teaching-learning processes in the concrete field of action, also allows theoretical work on local learning theories in the subject area as well as the conceptual sharpening of the desired educational goals.
