basic structure of the postdoc college
Permanently financed and structured in cohorts
The Professional School of Education Stuttgart-Ludwigsburg and the Tübingen School of Education have acquired a postdoctoral college as part of the competitive part of Higher Education Funding II of the state of Baden-Württemberg. This college will be permanently funded as an important part of the state of Baden-Württemberg's academic strategy for the future and is structured in six-year cohorts. In order to be able to react flexibly to the major challenges of the 21st century in teacher education , each cohort has a different thematic focus. The aim of the research training group is to address the needs of excellently qualified postdoctoral researchers with school experience in such a way that they are ready for appointment to a professorship in educational science or subject didactics. With TEIFUN , the postdoc program will start with its first cohort in January 2024.
cooperatively oriented
The cooperative postdoctoral college is aimed at two schools of education and a total of six universities. In addition to the Pädagogische Hoschschule Ludwigsburg, the University of Stuttgart and the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim are also involved in the postdoctoral college. The various forms of participation are intended to pool existing expertise so that new synergies can be created.
First postdoctoral support program in the field of teacher education
The Postdoc College addresses a national structural deficit: for the first time, a systematic support program tailored to the postdoc level is being offered in the field of teacher education. With the chosen format and the content focus of the six-year postdoc cohorts, the cooperation between the two Schools of Education can contribute to the excellent and forward-looking qualification of early career researchers in teacher education and in school and teaching research. It will also enrich research-based teacher education that is geared towards current and future social requirements. This is all the more true as the postdoctoral college will produce (early career) researchers whose practical school background will also benefit schools in the long term.
