After spending time abroad in 2017 (Reading, England) and 2018 (Canberra, Australia), Can Küplüce completed his Master of Education in English and Philosophy at the Ruhr University in Bochum in 2020. He then worked for four years as a research assistant in the DiAL:OGe and DigiGO research projects. In 2024, Can Küplüce completed his doctorate in English didactics and the AG Schulforschung on the topic of foreign language teaching in the (culture of) digitality. He is currently starting his research work at the Ludwigsburg University of Education as part of TEIFUN at the Institute for German Language and Literature and the Institute for English.

The focus of the new research project is the development of skills in the use of generative tools for writing tasks in secondary education. Data on pupils' writing products and skills will be collected in a cross-national mixed-methods study and processed in a multi-level analysis. Initial results are expected in 2025.
Can Küplüce's research interests lie in the areas of digitality & education, technology-supported (foreign language) learning, online collaboration and the digital divide.
