Dr. sercan sever

Dr. Sercan Sever has been a research assistant at the German Department of the University of Tübingen since July 2025 and is a fellow in the postdoctoral college TEIFUN. After completing his Master of Education at the Free University of Berlin, he completed various study and research stays abroad.
He has conducted research and study stays at Zhejiang University (China), the Orient Institute Istanbul (Turkey) and the University of Tokyo (Japan). He was particularly interested in socio-technical challenges from a comparative perspective. He dedicated his doctorate entitled "Technikzukünfte" ("Technofutures") to the action-relevant function of linguistic phenomena in technology development discourses and successfully completed it in the interdisciplinary doctoral program „Vermittlung und Übersetzung im Wandel“ ("Mediation and Translation in Transition") at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
He is particularly interested in the social and societal consequences of technological innovations and action-theoretical connections in technology-induced educational processes. In the postdoc college TEIFUN, Dr. Sercan Sever brings together his teaching experience and his academic focus and examines the use of AI in native-language literature and language teaching from a comparative perspective. His aim is to contribute to the analysis and critical further development of technology-supported education in an international context.
