Dr. sercan sever
Dr. Sercan Sever has been a research assistant at the Department of German Studies at the University of Tübingen since 2025 and conducts research as a fellow in the TEIFUN Postdoctoral Research Program. After earning his master’s degree in teacher education at Freie Universität Berlin, he completed various study and research stays abroad.
For example, he spent time at Zhejiang University (China), the Orient Institute in Istanbul (Turkey), and the University of Tokyo (Japan). He was particularly interested in sociotechnical challenges from a comparative perspective. He dedicated his dissertation, titled “Technikzukünfte” (Futures of Technology), to the practical role of linguistic phenomena in discourses on technological development and successfully completed it as part of the interdisciplinary doctoral program “Mediation and Translation in Transition” at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
He is particularly interested in the societal consequences of technological innovation and exnovation, as well as the connections between action theory and technology-driven educational processes. As part of the TEIFUN Research Group, Dr. Sercan Sever combines his extensive teaching experience with his academic research focus to examine the use of AI in the classroom from the perspectives of media didactics and pedagogy. The goal is to contribute to the analysis and critical advancement of media education in an international context.
